Abstract
Objectives: We investigated bone mineral density (BMD) in women as this is related to a history of previous pregnancies and miscarriage and according to age.

Materials & Methods: We performed retrospective study on 1,043 women who had their BMD in a university hospital. We analyzed the BMD and the previous obstetric history according to age and the clinical characteristics.
Results: The mean age of the study subjects was 56.7¡¾5.9 years. The gravida based on ages is not statistically related to the BMD (P-value=0.578), except for the spine BMD (P-value<0.001).

Conclusions: Obstetric history of previous child birth and/or miscarriages, did not effect on bone mineral density, but further prospective multicenter study about obstetric history should be considered for prevention of osteoporosis before menopause.
